Meets / Brit's Pub Vault
July 18, 2014, 08:04:15 PM
The Twin Cities Track Club is hosting a Pole Vault competition on the rooftop of Minneapolis' own Brit's Pub. On August 30, vaulters from around the country will be invited to show off in front of the Minneapolis skyline. We are accepting vaulters of all heights, but there is a cap on the number of entries. So register fast and secure your spot in the inaugural Brit's Pub Vault. Then following the completion of the open division stick around and watch a one of a kind event where some of Americas best Vaulters will be putting on a show.

Keep checking in on the Facebook page where more information regarding entries, t-shirts, schedules, and much more will be coming soon!

You can find more information on the event's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/394882800654924

You can sign up for the event here: https://register.chronotrack.com/reg/form?eventID=9458

Attention Minnesota pole vault coaches:

Considering the extreme weather so far this spring, I know that many programs have yet to have an opportunity to vault this year. I'm excited to announce that Armstrong High School in Plymouth is looking to open its indoor facility for practice the next two Saturdays (3/22 & 3/29). We're planning on the runway being available from 2:00-4:00 PM and if there's enough interest, we'll open up a second session from 4:00-6:00. If you're interested, please email me for details at brandon@flightdeckathletics.com.

Henry, aren't you a little young to know Spinal Tap?  What ever happened to Lightning McQueen?

My PR is 6.85.  I'm convinced it's the highest the game will let you go.  I can't even clear 6.86

What about this one Chris?  I know it's on the bottom of the list but I feel like you left it off just because you don't like Garrett (some sort of disappointment?):

That's a really good point Steve, and I agree that an auto standard should be in place, but the Juniors standard still seems a bit high.  If it's a mark that no guys and only two girls have ever hit, it seems a little out of reach.  Maybe somehow basing it off of the top state marks the previous year would be a little more fair.

Way to go Alicia!

I'm a little surprised they didn't shoot you when you let me and Dereck go to St. John's

Jordan Mogck from Mounds View is at Northwestern in St. Paul but isn't competing

Gabe Hymer from Apple Valley is at St. John's.  He didn't compete this year but should be next season

Dave Thomas from Wayzata is at St. Thomas and is jumping

I should be there.  I'll bring a few extra hammers for anyone who wants one.
