Early Registration Cost, post marked by Thurs 7/20
$300 athletes (meal plan and shared dorm room included)
$90 coaches (meal plan and individual dorm room included)

Late Registration Cost, register at the door
$350 athletes (meal plan and shared dorm room included)
$100 coaches (meal plan and individual dorm room included)

Training shoes (running shoes)
Spikes
Swim suit (one that will stay put), beach towel, goggles (we will underwater vault), nose plug if you need

Coaches Bio's

Patrick Hegel originates from Miles City, MT, where he pole vaulted 12' for the Custer County Cowboys his senior year of high school. In college, at Saint John's University Patrick developed quickly as a vaulter, setting personal records for the first 7 meets straight and reaching a height of 14'4" during his first year at SJU. By the end of his collegiate career, Patrick was a 7 time All-Conference vaulter with a personal best of 15'2". Mr Hegel is the Head Vault Coach of College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, along with being an active jumper and coach for Flight Deck. We Are very excited to have Patrick onboard this summer to help vaulter take the next step in there vaulting!

Steve White, former coach at St. John's University, Tech High School, Armstrong High School, and University of St Thomas.  Steve began vaulting in 7th grade (1984 cough).  While at St Louis Park high school Steve went to state twice and had a PR jump of 14'.  Steve earned All-American honors twice while at North Central College in Illinois and had a PR jump of 17'.  An advocate for girls in sports; Steve co-organized the original movement that led to girls getting to pole vault in Minnesota.  Steve coached the first girls' State Champion in the event; the first MN girl to clear 11'.  Now finishing his 11th year teaching, Steve is the AP physics teacher at Armstrong High School.  Steve is USATF certified Level 1, level 2 jumps, level 2 endurance, certified coaches-education instructor, and has begun level 3.  Steve is also currently working on a doctorate in education at St Thomas.  With a lifetime PR jump of 17'4, Steve still regularly clears 16'.  

Caroline White, University of Minnesota Women's Pole Vault Coach.  In her short time at the UofM she has already coached two female athletes to the NCAA D-1 national meet and one to the USA Olympic Trials, with a jump of 14'1.  Caroline began vaulting as a college freshman at the College of St Benedict, where she earned All-American honors twice.  Caroline has a PR jump of 12'2 in 2002 and since has placed her focus on coaching and teaching.  Caroline is finishing her 3rd year teaching life science at Maple Grove Junior High.  Caroline is USA Track and Field certified Level 1 and Level 2 jumps.  She has been coaching pole vault for 5 years and has 10 years experience coaching gymnastics.  

Kyle Cleven, University of St Thomas Pole Vault Coach.  Kyle has been coaching pole vault for 23 yrs.  The last 11 yrs at the University of St Thomas where he coached Karolien Bastiens to 12?5 and two-time All-American honors, 14 MIAC conference champs, and 7 NCAA national qualifiers.  Prior to UST, Kyle coached 8 yrs for Minneapolis Washburn High School and 1 yr at Minneapolis South High School.  Kyle has been an active Flight Deck member since the beginning, coaching 9 of the 11 yrs Flight Deck has offered summer pole vault camps.  Kyle is USA Track and Field certified Level 1, Level 2 Jumps, Level 2 Sprints, and Level 2 Combined Events.
